　　Tenax TA is a porous polymer with the chemical name poly (2,6-diphenyl-phenylene ether). It has high thermal stability, oxidation resistance, strong moisture resistance, stable chemical properties, easy regeneration, and can be reused. Currently, Tenax TA is mainly used for sampling and enrichment of volatile and semi volatile organic compounds. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has designated the Tenax TA adsorption tube sampling method as the standard sampling method for volatile and semi volatile organic compounds.

　　Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC), sampled using Tenax GC or Tenax TA, analyzed on a non-polar chromatographic column (polarity index less than 10), with retention times between n-hexane and n-hexadecane.
